Isla Salsipuedes

Isla Salispuedes is otherwise known as 'Leave if you can Island', and here you can clearly see why it is given that name!  The water is crystal clear and aquamarine and the island provides some really interesting hiking.  We shared the 'North Slot' anchorage with Mike and Liz from New York on their yacht Tel Aviv, their yacht being the one closer to the beach on this photo.  Seafire hovers above the emerald waters as seen from our vantage point upon the hill.
The view from the top of the peak was breath-taking (look carefully to spot Greg in his camouflage clothes waving from the ridge and our tiny orange dinghy on the beach to get a scale of height).  Here you can see the 'South Slot' anchorage and the islands of Isla Raza, Isla Partida and Isla Angel de la Guarda in the background.  The hiking was easy with many flat areas to walk on and valleys with carpets of golden grasses and scenic cactus.
This is the view from the other side of the island overlooking South slot where Greg tried to camouflage himself again by adopting the cactus pose.

These Oyster catchers have such a chirpy song and comical beaks and eyes.  There were many nesting on this island and gave us constant entertainment, along with the many Osprey that nested here and could be spotted hunting for fish from the boat and then eating them balanced on top of a cactus.
