As we approached the most southern
anchorage we spotted these two colourfull fishermen in their panga.
As you can see, the sea was pretty calm that day and we motored all the
way to Partida Cove at Espiritu Santos. |
| This view was taken from the beach
which forms the sand spit which joins the two islands. The
background of the photo shows the north bay where we went hiking.
Care must be taken with the tides before approaching this beach because
it is very shoal and you can end up walking your dinghy in soft mud for
quite a distance! |

Here is Greg and I with Doreen of
Scottish Mist, taken from the Northern beach at the start of our hike. |
| Bob and Doreen, of Scottish Mist
pose on a rock and admire the view from a high point off the North
beach. This hike takes you through the arroyo and up as far as you
can go and gives a fantastic view of the bay. You can see how
shoal this beach gets! |

Bob couldn't resist posing with this
perfect cactus. The colours of the mountains and the many
different species of cacti makes this a spectacular place to hike. |
| We saw many different species of
lizards, mostly quite small like this little fellow basking in the sun. |
 |
 |
This guy was a little larger, about
10 inches long and had quite a different appearance to the other
lizards. He was in the process of doing push-ups, I think to warn
us away! |
| This is to give you some idea of the
scale of most of the lizards we encountered, although we did see some
the size of a forearm. |
